I've just finished reading Big Bosoms and Square Jaws, a biography of Russ Meyer. It's a fantastic read and written in a hyperbolic style not unlike his awesome movies. I got a cheap paperback copy off ebay and am very glad i did! :D

Thanks for the recommendation :D

Another book on Russ Meyer that is well worth checking out is The Very Breast of Russ Meyer which draws together a collection of reviews and articles written throughout his career and finishes with a very comprehensive interview.

I know I'm a little late on this thread but I had to chime in. I've read both these books and they are enormously entertaining. Yea...I typed that with no intended pun and damn it, I'm not changing it!

I'm a big Russ Meyer fan. He's as energetic a filmmaker as you'll find. Look at the compositions, cutting and narrative economy of a movie like Mudhonny. He's brilliant in ways nobody would give him credit. Nothing wrong with the big boobs either.

Agreed. On a technical level, he was a very accomplished filmmaker, he knew exactly the sort of films he wanted to make and he did a great job of giving audiences exactly what they wanted - and then some.

And big breasts are good ;)
