Hey kiddies. I was wondering if anyone has read (or owns) this book? If so, is it worth 80 bucks AU??

Hey Oktayne....

I have this book, and as much as I love Argento and especially FAB press, I would say skip this and pick up instead Alan Jones' Profondo Argento (also by FAB) The problem with Art of Darkness is that the essays on Argento's films are sometimes very scholarly...Essentially, the book is critical essays on the great man's films, so if criticism is not your thing, give it a miss...

And thats my two cents....

I second Wes' opinion. I just pulled the book off my shelf, opened it to a random page, and read the first thing i saw. It said;

' Tenebrae, then is a palimpsest, juxtaposing explicit and implicit dimensions; by layering a dazzling array of texts it demands an engagement in subjective interpretation, the contrast of alternative readings, different possibilities...'

A rip-roaring read, i'm sure you'll agree!

and what the hell is a palimpsest? :D

A reused manuscript...but saying Tenebrae is like a reused manuscript would be nowhere near pretentious enough. :P
