Thanks oldschooledge for the kind words. I really like your show... the Adam Green interview in particular was great. Ben and I met him briefly at Frightfest last year, seemed like a nice guy. I don't think people are put off by sound quality on early shows... the first few Mondo Movies are hardly shining examples of audio brilliance!

I haven't listened properly to Cinema Diablica yet, but while it's nice of the guy on that Podcast Alley flame war to rave about us, as far as I'm concerned the more shows that cover the sort of movies we love the better, no matter the style of the show. At the end of the day we're all doing this for free out of love for the subject.

Just let me second Dan's comment that we are all on the same side here. The more the horror/genre film community grows the better as far as I'm concerned. Regardless of personal preferences I still feel it's important to acknowledge we are all into horror/genre podcasts for the same reason - love of the films.

For those who didn't notice the  let me just clarify the fact that i was joking....

I find the whole podcast fanboy, need-to-support-one-show-and-slag-of-the-others attitude to be pretty funny, and not a little ridiculous. For those of you who don't know I work with Gamespot in the UK and we have to deal with some of the most ridiculous fanboy bollocks i've ever heard in my life. It's a strange internet phenomenon for sure.

Dan and I started this show for the love of film, and wanting to create a commnity around that love and passion we have for the subject. The more podcasts who create interesting shows around the areas of cinema missed by the mainstream, and that do it free of pretension and ego, the better.

horroretc is one of the best, although they like some really mainstream crap. I do really enjoy it though.

I really like Deadpit Radio... they get some amazing interviews. The 3-part Romero one they did last year was especially great. They don't offer themselves up as a podcast, but the show can be downloaded from their website...

I do like Deadpit interviews, they do a great job, but it seems like they like 3 horror movies and that's it. They hate almost anything that isn't nostalgic to them. There's only so long you can listen to people complaining all the time.

Well, I've gone ahead and checked out a few podcasts mentioned in this thread. I must say it's gone from the intelligent to slightly annoying and into moronic in some cases. A couple have come out on top for me and will gain a place in my MP3 player besides MondoMovie; Hollywood Saloon and Horror Etc.

Would anyone have any suggestions on good podcasts covering independent and foreign films?

Just started listening to Goreboy Radio and have enjoyed it even though he's obsessive about his hatred for CGI. It seems if they even dare to put someone's breath in the arctic using CGI he'd mention how it sucks, but other than that, a generally positive, entertaining and informative podcast. He also mentions in his latest podcast that he's going to move into cult films rather than focus on horror, so that can only be good.
He speaks highly of Bloodtype Basement that I plan on giving a try since they supposedly don't use their podcast as a soapbox to decry every modern movie.

I've listened to all the episodes of Horror etc. on the recommendations of others here, and i've really liked the show :D The Friday 13th Megacast shows were some of the best i've heard. I'll buy that damn boxset on Ebay when people stop bidding so high!

My favorite podcast at the moment is the one over at Film Junk. Hilarious guys and just a good talk about movies and stuff. They have a new one every week plus, short films, side podcasts and other goodness.

You might want to check out a podcast that I took part in over at http://movieclubpodcast.blogspot.com/ where we talked about Night of the Creeps and Gremlins 2.
