"Just Before Dawn" - Uncensored Uk release.
Lesser transfer, with a few extra scenes than the U.S release and also a few less! Best not to ask. But the killing censored in the R1 release is intact.

"Cat O' Nine Tails" -
Anchor Bay. upgrade from VHS

"CopKillers" - Shriek Show. 70's Drive-In road movie thriller.

"Iron-Fisted Monk" - Uncut R1.

"Dracula vs Frankenstein" - never seen this infamous Drive-In clunker, but it was cheap! - £1

"Saw" - Double disc 'Director's Cut'

'Shockumentaries Vol 2' -
"Africa Addio", "Goodbye Uncle Tom", "Godfathers of Mondo".

"Trip with the Teacher" -
A real 70's curio just released on UK budget DVD.
Zalman King (yes, THAT one. He of "9 1/2 weeks"/"Red Shoe Diaries" producing duties) stars as one of two bikers who terrorise a group of school girls (read... teens) on a field trip.

I watched Irreversible for the first time over the weekend... I tell ya, I laughed and I laughed! Actually i didn't (although the bit where the hookers chase our 'heroes' down the street did make me chuckle!). We're reviewing that either next week or the week after. I'm still deciding if I actually thought it was a good film or not, but it should hopefully provoke some interesting discussion betweeen Ben and I. What do you think of it?

I was rather impressed with Irreversible, in that I was rather taken with the stylistic choices, the vertigo-inducing roving camera-work, the amazingly well-done CGI and practical effects, especially on the attack scene in the gay bar, that was startlingly realistic, I thought.

While being one of the most bleak and depressing films I can recall seeing, it wasn't anything that I ran out and bought immediately, as I doubt I'll need to watch it again until someone I know expresses an interest in watching it; my only real reason for purchasing it, sadly enough, was a recent sale that Amazon had, and I figured that any film that had had such a strong reaction in me was worth owning.

I'm not even really a fan of "Irreversible," but put next to "I Stand Alone," it looks like a masterpiece. I don't think I can capture the essence of my disdain for this film in words, but suffice it to say that I'd rather watch the rape sequence from "Irreversible" for 90 minutes than see "I Stand Alone" again. Don't take my word for it. Watch the thing.

Heh, when I hear something like that, I wanna see it!!

Kingmob, I totally agree with you about the technical brilliance of Irreversible... I'm not sure that beyond that and the shock value it had anything else to offer. But maybe that's enough...?

I watched Irreversible last night and i'm still shaking.

We'll discuss it on the next show so i don't want to say so much, suffice to say that i've never known one ten minute sequence go so slowly.....It seemed to go on for hours and Noe seems to be punishing his audience, is it over? is it over?......Nope, not quite yet.
