I'm listening to the year-in-review episode right now and, while I'm enjoying it, what is that noise in the background? Sounds like you're recording the show next to photocopier or something.

Probably my dogs barking - they seem to make guest appearances on almost every episode. I listened back to the show and can't hear a photocopier or anything, I don't know! :) Maybe someone was mowing their lawn or something?

We have some strange neighbors.

Did you hear any strange noises, besides my dogs?

I figured it out:

The noise you are hearing is an ambient music track that is playing in the background. I can hear how through certain speakers or headphones, it might sound like a photocopier. Perhaps I will change it a bit.

No! Don't change anything. I love the way that it's not dead cold and silent on podcasts. I like the dogs on yours, coolshites racing motorbikes, cinemaslaves ringing phones, starshipsofa's dog shaking his head and getting that flappy ear noise, mondo's beer swigging noises.

Makes them special.

:)

Alright - just for you! I too like the odd little background noises you mentioned. I haven't heard the dog shaking yet in STARSHIP SOFA, but I need to!

Just listened to episode 1. Enjoyed it a lot :D It made me want to start watching Shaw Brothers movies again. Seeing as there is about 1000, it'll take me a while to watch the lot :) My hearing must be going, as i honestly couldn't hear a dog barking on the podcast. Aren't martial art movie English dubs, just the best :D

Just keep listening, I am sure you will hear my dogs eventually! :D

And yes, there are a ton of Shaw Brothers films. I think Celestial/IVL said they will be releasing them for the next 10 years or so! So many movies, so little time.
