Well last night I won Arrow dvds of Deep Red and City of the Living Dead - haven't seen the Argento in ages, and never seen the Fulci film, so looking forward to them!

As I mentioned on the film review thread, also snapped up the Vampire's Kiss R1 for the commentary with Cage and his poor director :D . . .

nice prizes there. I haven't seen Deep Red for a while, don't think I've seen City Of The Living Dead

My friends say the same thing, I haven't heard of some of them myself which makes it more fun to watch having heard nothing about a film and going in with a completely clean slate.

I finally got Performance (from Morrisons, oddly), so looking forward to that! Roeg's my director of the moment, untill a few months ago I'd only seen Don't Look Now and The Witches  . . .

I've still not got round to watching Performance. I really need to after watching Villain and Goodbye Gemini, watch are lesser films in a similar vein I think.

Anyway my R1 copy of Vampire's Kiss turned up at last and an R1 copy of Jacob's Ladder which i wanted for the director commentary too.

I have Performance on my Lovefilm list, looking forward to it.

Trying to cut down on my dvd spending at the moment, but I picked up Cold Prey, Them and Man Hunt in a horror box set for £6 on Play.com the other day with free postage. Not bad! Remember Ben and Dan were quite positive about these three so I'm looking forward to checking them out.

I thought Cold Play was OK, I'm not a slasher fan really, but it kept me entertained. I wasn't overly keen on Them, I found it to be one of the classic 'why are you doing that, when you should be doing the complete opposite?', but I suppose these kind of films need their characters to remain in peril at all costs or their wouldn't be a film!
Manhunt is still sat on my shelf unwatched.

I won the The Stunt Man Anchor Bay double DVD release on ebay at the weekend and that arrived this morning, which I'm extremely chuffed about.

Also Deadfall turned up, which I'm looking forward to watching again as it has jumped to the top of my so bad it's good list.

Just nabbed an Italian R2 dvd of Pupi Avati's House with Laughing Windows. While I'm not much of an audio/visual nerd, the colours on this version are drastically different to the UK dvd (much heavier with the sepia tones, and less murky looking), and apparently much closer to the directors vision. It has a sweet slipcase sleeve too, which is nice . . .

Ooooo, that sounds great. Might have to replace my UK version. I really like that film and have only seen the UK version, so that's very intriguing.

The Wicker Man (remake) region 1 came today. Looking forward to Labute's commentary. Still waiting for my R2 wooden box of the original to turn up.

I managed to track an unopened still wrapped one for a tenner. I've pretty much put Blu ray buying on the back burner as my player is totally screwed and my wife won't let me get a new one until I get my driving licence. The ironic thing is I'm spending a fortune on DVDs that I'll probably get on Blu eventually.

The Wicker man wooden box arrived yesterday. I have to admit that this must be the best looking ridiculous packaging I've seen yet.

Also I got my German R2 DVD of The Island (Michael Caine one) which has a super 8mm version of the film!
