I am hoping that the project involves a DVD release with commentary for a pretentious erotic drama set in 1930's Paris called A Poet's Mistress.

Would it be wise to knock Mondo Movie on its head, leave it on a high and just concentrate on your new project instead?

From what Dan was saying, it sounded like the new project would only be lasting half the year, so the podcast could continue afterwards (hopefully).

Well, the 'project' itself will take longer, but we really need to focus on it for the next few months, hence this break.

Sorry to talk so elliptically - and it's not like this new venture is anything mysterious, amazing or world-changing - but until there's something to actually talk about we'd rather just get on with it quietly in the background!

I'm really gutted Dan that you and Ben are taking a break from the show! I have to say it's without doubt the best movie podcast there is and i've listened to every show more than once whilst at work! I wish you all the best with your new project and hope you continue with the podcast down the line! Where the hell am I going to learn about great new up and coming horror films now?!?

Sad news about the show; will be sadly missed; all the best of luck for your upcoming venture whatever it maybe, sure it will come out just as fantastic as the show and it's community.

It almost goes without saying - but thanks so much for the kind words guys, we really appreciate it!! I know we had a good chunk of last year off when our kids were born, but this feels like a 'proper' break. Some podcasts have been going for even longer without any break at all, but I think we were both feeling that we wanted to try our hand at something else for a bit.

I've still got 11 shows i haven't listened to. Should keep me going for a little while

Really interested in the new project, but very sad to hear this may well be the end of the podcast for the foreseeable future.

I understand that circumstances, life emphasis and personal interests change, but Mondo Movie was the premier genre podcast on the Net, and one can't help but feel some sadness given we all got to know Ben and Dan (albeit in podcast form) over the years.

As Dan noted, hopefully the forum will continue, but as he inferred things can peter out without impetus.

Still, best wishes for the 'new direction' guys - and thanks for all the work done.

I am an anti-social bastard. Rather than taking an active part, I'm content to simply to listen from afar, peering over the top of my paperback while sitting in a deckchair wearing a knotted handkerchief on my head, and raise an eyebrow at the noisy fun others are having in the sun.

If it's time for you to move to somewhere a little more shaded for a while, clear the sand from between your toes, and apply some lotion to your white bits, then I understand.

I do very much hope that you will return to previous haunts in due course.

You will be missed.

I cant even remember where I first heard about it. lol i think it was before there was a forum.
I havent heard the last 2-3 shows out of laziness-but I will get to them eventually. Hopefully the forums will keep going but if not I will go pester horror etc or something.
