Been checking a couple of times a week for a new episode but no luck for a long time!

Is there a schedule anymore like bi-weekly or monthly etc?

The schedule is, er, when we get to it...

But sorry it's taken a while, life just gets it the way sometimes. New show coming soon, honest!!!

Good things are worth waiting for and don't forget the back catalogue.

Also don't forget to follow the guys on Twitter to keep up on Mondo film opinion.

I still get very excited every time an episode appears on iTunes. I can't think of another podcast where the hosts have such great taste, are so likeable, knowledgeable, articulate, and have such a long history together.

If there is any chance of a discussion of True Grit, and perhaps a Coen's special, that would be amazing. I realise that everyone talks about them, but their films warrant it. Its a while since I listened to your whole back catalogue, so I can't remember exactly how much Coen discussion you've done already.

Have you ever considered recording two at a time? Or making a slightly longer one and releasing it in two parts a couple of weeks apart? It might help keep up the momentum for Mondo Movie fans. One with retro reviews and one with a current or upcoming film perhaps. Just a polite suggestion.

They have enough of a tough time getting ONE out! If we ask for two, I think they'll die of heart failure!

:D

I'm pretty sure Ben talks about 'True Grit' in an episode not to long back! I seem to remember him saying he couldn't understand what Jeff Bridges was saying half the time, I could be wrong tho

Yes, it was in the Review of 2010 episode, I forgot. I had been avoiding reviews of it prior to seeing the film myself. Cheers.

Don't get me wrong, I love listening to the podcast above all others.
The trouble is, from reading forums on other podcast sites, I think you are losing a little momentum.

Maybe the suggestion is right about recording 2 shows at once, or maybe just do it over skype if you can't meet up.
Just to keep getting something out there.

Hopefully you've heard/seen our statement about the immediate future of the show.

Have to say, some of the statements on this thread seriously make me consider whether we should just kill the show completely. Yes we've struggled to get shows out, and been pretty up front about why - to claim we don't care about our audience, or to imply we ought to feel in some way obligated is totally wide of the mark.

Yes, that is totally disrespectful. Although I think the sharper comments may issue from enthusiasm and genuine enjoyment, there's simply no excuse for an attitude of "Where's my podcast, then?"

Hopefully all this doesn't leave a bitter taste in your mouth, Ben. I'm sure no-one would ever want that. :(

If you're referring to my post, I meant nothing of the sort.

I pimp your show on every board I go to as the best there is. Because, (and I'm sure you two know it too), frankly it is the best there is.

My point was that you are starting to lose some momentum by not having new content out.

I - and most of the horror/exploitation fans I come across - don't do Twitter and Facebook - so are in the dark about updates.

This isn't some flaming to make you rage quit, this is someone who wants this podcast to turn into something professional for you two as it really is that good.

The announcement is on the feed, so presumably everyone has heard it by now. Anyway, this isn't necessarily the end - we do want to return, just want to try our hands at something else for a while. But if anyone wants to offer us full time jobs hosting a cult movie podcast, we'll be back behind the mikes tomorrow!

For what it's worth I would pay to subscribe to Mondo Movie. The amount of pleasure I derive from listening to the show far outstrips the pleasure I derive from other things that I happily pay for.

PS. I do hope that after you're new project and a hiatus you do feel enthused and reenergised and return to podcasting.
