Thought? Opinions?

Unsurprisingly The King's Speech did well. I still haven't watched the whole thing and I'm pretty unmotivated to rectify this to be honest.

Fincher best director. Nolan or Aronofsky really. Well Aronofsky if push comes to shove.

Best editing Angus Wall, Kirk Baxter for The Social Network. Fuck me Andrew Weisblum for Black Swan surely. There's no editing that can match editing on a horror/genre/mirrored movie.

Best foreign language film - Girl With a Dragon Tattoo? It's two years old for god's sake! I haven't seen any of the other shortlisted apart from The Secret in Their Eyes which won the Oscar last year!

Best sound - Inception wsn't bad by any means, but Black Swan for it's subtlety. Probably the best sound design on a film I've heard for a looooong time.

Very chuffed for Chris Morris on his outstanding debut by a British director.

Now I really must watch this King's Zzzzzzzzpeech :P

I rarely watch awards shows. The award introductions with the presenter couples and their awkward chemistry, trying to deliver the autocued jokes I find painfully embarrasing to watch. It's too distressing for me

I would've thought Inception for editing - bringing all those different dream states together in a way that you can follow the story and enjoy the action deserves a prize I reckon. But then I still haven't seen Black Swan.

Poor Kermode having to read out Tattoo beating Of Gods and Men :D . . .

Yeh, I only watched 10 mins. Too excruciating watching people um and ah their way through acceptance speeches.

...and damn, Christopher Lee looks OLD (probably because he is, but still).

And how come they don't give a Best Documentary?

Nice to see Skeletons nominated in Outstanding Debut, only just spotted that one. But glad that Chris Morris won, predictably not appearing to collect it . . .

He is 88. I thought it was disrespectful that none of the audience gave him a standing ovation as soon as he finished, and it took just Emma Watson to get them off there arses.

In the past people stood up almost immediately after the recipient of a life time achievement award finishes his/her speech.

As soon as King Speech won the first award, I switched it off, and caught Christopher Lee’s Speech on you tube. Tim Burton did an amazing introduction.

I think Kings Speech was pretty good but by no means in the top four or five of the year.

I do agree with the phurious about the sound design for Black Swan. Worth writing home about.

That's terrible. What a shame. At least people get 'nuff respect at the Academy Awards.

I am so bored of hearing about The Kings Speech. The moment you hear about this sort of film you know that its a shoe in for these sort of awards. Wild horses couldn't drag me to watch it.

*ha yeah I have no interest in it.
Or the Social Network.
But I would watch an awards show where Christopher Lee attacks a Harry Potter actress in his old Dracula style. ;)
