Has anyone read it? It's a great book!! The character development is fantastic. The movie's great also, although I fear the American remake will destroy it. Thoughts?

Really wasn't a fan of the book (couldn't even finish it), and only really appreciated the film on my second viewing (but I blame that on the hype surrounding it).

I'm intrigued by the Hollywood remake. I though Reeves did a good job with Cloverfield and the two leads he's chosen have been exceptional in their last two roles, also some of the production stills have looked excellent.

I'm going to stick my neck on the line and reckon that people are going to be (pleasantly?) surprised by the remake.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the book, and also enjoyed his Zombie novel 'Handling the Undead'; also an original and haunting take on an established genre.

I loved the book, totally blew me away. I read it a short while before seeing the film. If anything I saw the film too soon if that makes any sense. The book was so fresh in my mind still, that I couldn't help but compare the two. I think I need to watch the film again so I can judge it on it's own merits. I did like the film, but was alot more impressed with the book.

I couldn't get into the book. I'm not sure if it was a translation thing, but the grammar and sentence structure was awful. It was a very uneven and hard-going read.

It kinda put me off the movie, which I've yet to see.

Cheers
Rich
