Still one of my all time favourite films, Warners are releasing the BR of
The Exorcist in October as a 2-disc edition featuring the
Original Version and
The Version That William Friedkin Thinks Is Better or
The Extended Director's Cut as it will be known from here on.
I caught up with the
The Version You've Never Seen on TV last year and I hated it. I take director tinkering as it comes (I thought
THX-1138 was fine with the new CGI) but the changes and additions made to
The Exorcist were idiotic... I'm just hoping the Original Version will be given the respect it deserves on BR, unlike the half-assed laserdisc transfers that George Lucas released for the re-issues of the Original Star Wars films on DVD....
