This is one Hammer film I've never seen, but I've always heard good things about it so I'm quite excited.

Paranoiac is a good film, one of the many Hammer Psycho-inspired films, but likely the best of this sub-sub-genre. Oliver Reed is excellent, and there's an obligatory but fun twist at the end. Odd choice for the first Hammer film on Blu-ray though. Some of the earlier Technicolour films, like the first Frankensteins and Draculas, would look fabulous on HD. In Region 1, Synapse Films are releasing three classic Hammers this fall -- Hands of the Ripper, Vampire Circus, and Twins of Evil -- and may be putting them out on Blu-ray. Fingers crossed!

I'm still surprised they haven't put out that restoration of Horror Of Dracula they did a couple of years ago. That would make a great Blu-Ray release. They'll probably get around to it eventually though. Thanks VERY much for the info on Hands of the Ripper, Vampire Circus, and Twins of Evil. I've had to make do with a bootleg vhs copy of vampire circus for years haha

Yeah, same here! Plus I have an old ex-rental VHS of Hands of the Ripper that pretty much sucks in terms of picture quality.

Here's some newly released info for the Vampire Circus dvd/blu ray release. It's coming out in December, with Twins Of Evil and Hands Of The Ripper coming out sometime in 2011. Getting this is gonna be one of the highlights of my Christmas season :D and the fact they're doing it as a DVD/Blu Ray combo pack makes it even better.

I was just gonna post this! Looks like a great disc. Plus I love how they use the original poster artwork for the cover -- no Photoshop bullshit. Can't wait for the other Synapse Hammer Films releases!

December is a quality month for great horror cinema on Blu-ray, with this and the Criterion Blu-ray releases of Cronos and Videodrome. I've already ordered the latter two and will order Vampire Circus as soon as Amazon Canada has it up.
