This is from Wikipedia:

Quote:
Variety report that Columbia Pictures have optioned the comic for a film adaptation, to be produced by Neal H. Moritz. According to The Hollywood Reporter Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay will be writing the screenplay and their previous credits include Aeon Flux, The Tuxedo and Crazy/Beautiful.

Anyone a fan of this series? It's absolutely great. Completely OTT and hilarious - total Ennis.

I would like to see it adapted, but Aeon Flux, The Tuxedo and Crazy/Beautiful??? not the most inspiring canon of work.

What's wrong with Ennis sticking his oar in and writing it?

Honestly the biggest problem that Aeon had was the script, visually it was enjoyable and this is coming from a huge Flux fan. On the other hand the script and dialog was trash.

As for The Boys I'm lukewarm on that comic... pretty cool and funny but overall just a little too silly. Also Ennis does this "my heroes always win and humiliate the badguys" thing, like he tries to be realistic but he worships his own heroes too much.

Horses for courses. I'm all for the silliness really, superheroes getting well and truly paggered is very funny in my book.

I've not read that much of his other stuff apart from his Dredd stories in 2000AD and the hugely enjoyable Preacher series of course.

Really enjoyed the last edition of this. Frenchie's back story is one of the funniest things I've read in ages.
