Dexter is my most faviroute TV Series and that is saying something I never thought a series would beat my love for Firefly.
Sadly it has a slow build up through the first season, but the pay off at the end of that season just had me blown off my seat. At first I thought it was your typical series, albeit the secret serial killer main character, at first I didn't like it because I couldn't connect with him, seeing as I couldn't kill someone else. But his views of his world and how he feels felt so similair to mine his character just grew on me, that in a way strangely the series made me cheer for him all the way and the incredible way the series had done that to me was amazing. Not only that but the other characters and the story itself is written and scripted so brilliantly I haven't seen scripts written so well in a TV series and characters I've connected with so much.
At this point now in the 4th Season it's the only series that I know every episode is going to be a incredible episode, one issue I have with alot and I mean alot of series "Lost" even my faviroute series "Supernaturual" is that the episode may not be as good as the last, or like Lost it will not reveal something with the storyline instead it'll sway off course, for supernaturual the same applies it'll sometimes have episodes that sway from the main story (refreshing but the stories can be very cliche and simple, epsicially when I'm just really enjoying the story). Typically this feels like filler.
While the first episode of Dexter's Season four was a refresher of the characters, every single episode had a twist or something would occur and the love relations and characters had there own problems and relations that were so intresting to watch aside from the main story. Every episode was brilliant they may not have been as good as the last but hell they were so good I couldn't care less. Sure the first season had a huge build up but they pay off like I said was nothing like any of the pay offs from the other seasons, Season 3 was decent but it had too much of a build up (trying to go back to the roots) and the pay off was too simple, possibly the only poor season (and it was still bloody brilliant none the less.)
