I ordered the Anchor Bay DVD of Black Belly of the Tarantula recently from DVD Pacific (great cheap company) in the US. When i received it, it wouldn't play on the DVD player on my PC which usually plays anything. It also wouldnt play on my girlfriends laptop PC, or my other DVD player. I sent it back to DVD Pacific who replaced it with another copy and now this doesn't work either. Has anyone else had trouble with this title? I did get a copy from a file sharing program but it was in Italian with no subtitles! Arghh!

Yeah, i had exactly the same problem with this Movie, except mine was the Blue Underground release.

I have 2 copies of the film and like yourself, i tried them on loads of different DVD players and none of them would load the disks at all.

I thought i was in luck, though, when i tried it on my portable DVD player ( a region 1 Philips DCP850/37 ). It actually worked... for the first 50-odd minutes of the film. It then crashed and wouldn't play any further. Damn!

I was really looking forward to watching this film, but i have to say i was pretty disapointed with the 50 mins i did manage to see. I'm not really that bothered about seeing the rest of it!

I'm going to be of absolutely no help to you at all I'm afraid, but I accidentally got this disc in a boxed set in place of Last Cannibal World/Jungle Holocaust (a Shriek Show release - not even the same label!!) and decided to watch it anyway (on my mum and dad's cheap-n-cheerful player) - - it played fine but it really wasn't anything to write home about. Maybe it's not worth the bother?!

Actually now you two have mentioned it, I haven't tried it on my OWN players yet...perhaps I'll test it tonight and see... For reference, what make is your player?

I've got a Pioneer DV-575A, but also tried it on a Philips DCP850/37, Playstation2, and a Samsung DVD-807. All to no avail.

OK, I've had a look-see and it also plays fine on my Pioneer DV-525 (all the way from 1999!) - - maybe you've come across a bad batch? In which case it may be worth pursuing a replacement… Blue Underground are usually excellent, as I'm sure you know! :D

Yep, it must be a dodgy batch. It's funny, though, that i've never heard of any complaints about it elsewhere on t'internet.

I dunno about returning them. They're US discs and i'm in the UK, and i bought one on Ebay, the other at a film fair, both over a year ago.

I guess i've given up! Doesn't sound like it's a very good movie anyway. Cool title, though.

Just gotta say, since from my name you can tell I'm a big Tarantino fan, I love your icon.
