Happy Birthday.

Nice package (for a very good film) that "Downfall".
The big problem though is that the ONLY subtitles on the film are HOH subtitles! So you have the odd 'bomb blast goes off', 'telephone rings' caption appearing! Very weird.

no wonder it was so cheap :!: oh well.

i did catch this at the cinema last year and though i enjoyed it, didnt think i'd want to rewatch it.

however, discussions on the podcast (and on cinemaslave?) have rekindled the urge to revisit this excellent film.

It was the same when it first came out at full price. That's just the way the UK DVD is.
GREAT DTS sound though!

I bought the Australia release of Grindhouses 2 DVD SE of Cannibal Holocaust.
I'm not a fan of the film at all, I was more interested in seeing the behind the scenes stuff which is fairly interesting.

I also bought one of Fulcis more hilarious offerings - the leotard-tastic Murder rock. If theres one thing I love as much as a good (or bad) giallo its those spandex clad dance movies of the early 80s.

Viva Kajagoogoo !!!

you wont be disappointed! when i picked this up last summer i thought it might get one viewing and then gather dust on the shelf - how wrong i was. it has been sat next to my dvd player ever since and i watch at least one episode every week (out of gas if my fave).
goes to show that 20th century fox who cancelled the show prematurely don't know their arse from their elbow - why they cancelled this show remains one of lifes great mysteries.

There were recent rumours tha HBO were going to tackle preacher as a mini-series. Seems like a perfect match if you ask me, the longer format and the creative freedom required to have the amount of swearing and violence, would be ideally suited to the world's greatest channel.

Not heard anything recently however, so maybe it's dead in the water :(
