Looking forward to this release:

http://totalscifionline.com/reviews/5626-video-nasties-the-definitive-guide

While I have no particular interest in seeing most of the films on the list, I'm interested in the trailers with their individual introductions. The documentary sounds pretty comprehensive too - it was on the bill at Frightfest wasn't it . . . ?

I missed it at Frightfest as I was watching Amer for a second time, but it does look quite interesting.

It's done by Jake Doghouse West.

Doghouse? The Danny Dyer one? Hmmm . . .

I've pre ordered my copy, so I'll get a numbered box and art cards!

(Yes, I'm aware how sad it is for me to be excited by a dvd case with a number on it . . .)

Sorry guys I got this totally confused with the Jake WEst doc that was shown at Frightfest. That was called Video Nasties: Moral Panic, Censorship & Videotape.

This one looks amazing though and will be a definite purchase.

At least I found out why my dog was so weird when I was younger - it was all those dodgy movies I watched! Poor thing.

This whole moviewalt disney dvd is so funny! I'm too young to have seen Walt Disney on television, but the opportunity to see now is a real grey's anatomy dvdtreat! Cracks me certain things,he said, and their interaction with the" Disneyland Tencennial lady (is that a word?) "It seems almost obscene at times, but it's fun. Look Uncle Walt host your program broughtsmallville dvd tears to my eyes. .. I have so much love and respect for the man. And interviewshouse md dvd with his daughter, Diana, have been just wonderful. My only complaint is that there were more than Walt! I'm glad you showed on television in its entirety, but I would like episodes had become 24 hours dvdinvolved Walt. I could have done without the Mousketeers celebration. Do not get me wrong, I love Mousketeers, but I bought this game to see Walt. But still, it's fantastic!

The girlfriend got me this for christmas, didn't even ask for it (she knows what her man likes, what a star) and I have to say it's a very impressive DVD with a great documentary. What I really like tho is the trailers and having someone also give a 5 minute take on the film such as Kim Newman or Alan Jones etc. I was pretty surprised to hear 'A Serbian Film' mentioned in the documentary as well, seeing as it's a pretty new. Interesting point made about 'A Serbian Film' and how it looks to nice to be offensive and the video nasties back in the day were often viewed on 5th generation video tapes, giving it that raw feel. A highly recommended purchase if you're into this sort of thing

Yeh, it's an absolutely unmissable DVD set for fans of genre movies. Some fascinating and hilarious insights.

I was a little put off by some of the talking heads on the trailers DVDs who were obviously reading from a script, they aren't as well practised as the likes of Newman and Jones, but this is a very minor gripe.

I also loved the fact that a lot of the interviews were in a room that had the Phantasm sphere boxset and Hellraiser cube boxset sat next to each other on the shelf - just like mine :D

Ugh Emily Booth is the worst! At the end of each of her trailer introductions, I wonder if she has actually seen the film, or just giving an over enthusiastic script reading in the style of a dim adult channel host . . .

Fuck yeh, she is just atrocious. She has that stupidly naive stage school approach to her presenting. It makes me embarrassed for her.

Fuzzbuddy and I were interviewed by her for the Horror Channel at Frightfest this year after the TCM screening. Fortunately we weren't televised

How is she the unofficial poster girl for British horror? Corpse Bride with a hangover.
