I think in general film critics are too cautious about plot "spoilers" in movies. I personally find that it seldom hampers my enjoyment of any given film to know the story in advance, and more often than not, I'd prefer that critics err on the side of giving too much away, because the more of a story I know in advance, the more likely I am to figure out whether I would be interested in seeing it in the first place. I dare say, most movies that come out don't really have plots to spoil anyway. I would cite my favorite film of the last decade, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Bob Ford, which, since I'm a bit of a history buff, I knew most of the details anyhow.

While I often feel this way with a lot of other film critics, Ben & Dan operate the bulletin board that I regularly troll, so I'm voicing my opinion here to hopefully ignite a reform movement (not a total revolution, just reform) to swing the pendulum toward more complete disclosure of plot points throughout the world of film criticism. In this spirit, I hereby encourage the Ben & Dan to take the liberty to address the plots of films more freely.

Anyone else feel this way?

I prefer the way the podcast is at the moment in that they give advance notice that they will spoil a movie and to listen on if you want to hear it or fast forward if you don't. Most tv & radio shows don't have that option as there isn't a fast forward option for tv and radio.

Perhaps if time persists they could do 2 versions of the same episode, one which is talking about the film in full and edit the full episode into a shorter one thats spoiler free. People can then choose which they want to hear.

There are other podcasts out there that talk about films in full if thats what you're looking for. One is the Greatest Movie Ever Podcast http://gmepodcast.com/.
