I just wanted to say that it is great to see a new episode up. I'm sure everyone understands that your offspring are the main priority now, but Mondo Movie remains the best film podcast bar none for me (and I've listened to a great many of them).

It will be great if you can do a top 10 for 2010 show, as I love hearing your thoughts on the major new-releases. (I'm still not sure if you've commented on A Serious Man yet, and True Grit is already almost upon us!)

Fairly certain the first "what's this film" your after is Laserblast.....
Guy puts a medallion on, turns into a gun toting stop motion lizard who takes out the aliens....

Thanks for the kind words Dazed&Confused - and ye, we will be doing our traditional end-of-year countdown on the show after next!

And cheers Monkeyman for suggesting that movie is Laserblast - we've had an email in saying the same thing so I guess it is! We'll read that out next time.

Great show as always chaps. By happy coincidence, I was looking on Amazon.co.uk earlier for a copy of VIDEO NASTIES: MORAL PANIC, CENSORSHIP AND VIDEOTAPE as recommended on your earlier Frightfest podcast. Amazon kindly suggested that I also order 'Teenage Wasteland: The Slasher Movie Uncut' with it, the very book I was just listening to you discuss.

At £22.51 for the pair, who am I to disagree :D

Thanks for the plug of Teenage Wasteland, guys. I'm a regular listener, so it was a thrill to hear you talking about it! Glad you enjoyed it.

Now, this may have been answered, but the one film you have been unable to track down from a description, it's not THE MEDUSA TOUCH (1978) is it? That has a plane being crashed into a tower-block in London by Richard Burton's evil psychic.

Hey JA, no worries, that's awesome you listen to the show! It's a really great book you've written, been devouring it over the last few weeks.

I don't think my mystery movie is The Medusa Touch, but that's a film I watched as a pre-teen and found REALLY scary.

I would be enjoying your book JA if i could prize it from Mr Auty's sweaty fingers ;)

Still if you fancy sending another copy over, that would be, you know, excellent - it looked lovely in the few minutes i had with it, before it was smuggled off into Dan's bag....:(

Hey Ben

Be more than happy to bung a copy in the post. Just PM me where you would like it sent to. I'd hate to think my book would cause a fight! ;)

Incidentally, I re-listened to your reviews of four 80s horror classics the other day from an old podcast. The one that you did with THE BURNING. I had to cut a fair bit out of the book for space reasons, but I've done a big retrospective on the film at my website: http://www.hysteria-lives.co.uk/the_burning

Of course, I do love classic slashers (and my misspent youth has now proved to be not so misplaced after all!), but the reason I love the Mondo Movie podcast is the diversity of what you cover. I too saw SALO on an nth generation tape many moons ago. I got it again on Lovefilm again a few months ago. It's funny how you were discussing not ever being in the mood to watch it. It's even worse when your random rental turns up and one of them's SALO! Still, it holds up as a beautiful and horrifying film. Thankfully, my other half didn't hate it (I was in the doghouse after an airing of William Lustig's MANIAC a while back - although, even worse, was the fallout when I screened a Fulci film for my Grandma back in the 1980s!).

I must admit, I've even been know to watch the odd Gregg Araki!

Take care guys and keep up the amazing work!

Thanks for the show guys. I truly do appreciate everything you do considering the new-found offspring.
