Finished this last week - a wonderfully entertaining read, finished it in 3 nights (very rare for me!). Never knew Higson had written so much prior to the young Bond books, and now persuing his back catolague. Anyone read any others to recommend?

Surprise to find not only it had been made into a film, but was directed by Stuart Gordon! Rented it post haste - did a good job of condensing the basic plot into a short running time, though a shame to see so much of the substance ditched. A major change to the third act didn't really work, but an entertaining watch on the whole . . .

I recently read The Enemy after picking it up in Waterstones (met Charlie at the same time and got it signed...thoroughly nice bloke).
It's a really easy, but gripping read.
Under 14s are the only survivors of a deadly plague, which turns Adults into zombie type creatures. It's a good survival tale of how kids would deal with a situation like that.
Really recommend you check that one out.

I don't know who wrote it first but that book sounds EXACTLY like a book called Blood Crazy by Simon Clarke which I read around 1997! I really enjoyed that book, it had some brilliant imagery.

He's in a new show with Paul Whitehouse starting tomorrow. Will have to keep an eye out for that.

Managed to get another three of his older books in a Borders closing down sale. Will probably start 'Full Whack' when I'm done with King's 'Cell' . . .

Really enjoyed that book aswell, though didn't realise when i first started reading that it was the first book for the story and that it's going to have at least one follow up, so the ending kind of caught me off guard. A real easy read, much like Dan Brown, it's not the greatest piece of literature you'll ever read but it's an easy read and always enjoyable.
