Whilst my wife and nipper are away and the podcast schedule has eased up (ever so slightly) I thought I'd get some serious film watching in and I came up with the Alphabet Challenge.

Details are on my blog here.

I think I'm going to regret it

haha you crazy fool. Reckon it would be physically impossible for me to do anything like that. I usually manage to watch one film a day (like Jim Jarmusch apparently), but I struggle if anything passes the midnight mark . . .

Been checking out your tweets - that Koala film sounds good fun. Saw the Calamari trailer a while back. I'm guessing there isn't a Bela Tarr film on your list, that would be suicide . . . !

Yeh, I'm trying to avoid the 'arty' stuff. Currently watching Fata Morgana which is the limit of artiness, really need involving films to keep me going.
Highly recommend Executive Koala great stuff, but I think I had a even more fun with Calamari Wrestler.

In half an hour I'll have 20 films to go!

Yeh, they're region 1 only (and not cheap).

Mental fatigue? Well, I'm tired, but I got up earlyish and had a pretty hardcore week at work, but it's not going all Videodrome yet.

Where did you find that nutty Western? I was sold on the imdb review, comparing it to Army of Darkness! I like the odd title, reminds me of Leone thinking Duck, you Sucker! was a common American phrase :D . . .

Jim and I wanted to do it for the show, but couldn't locate it so we ended up doing Cut-Throats Nine (which is a much better film).
That's funny that the reviewer comapred it to Army of Darkness as that's what I was thinking towards the end.
Alas it's not as much fun as I'd hoped for, but you can get it from here - although I did have to request it.

Oh blimey, that site again. It's like a window into the secret world of the SERIOUS COLLECTOR. Don't think I'm ready to start splashing the cash in there yet . . .

Hahaha - yeh, it's an absolute money pit. But it's a real eye opener into a whole bunch of films that I would never have known exist.

I'm now on N aka. film 14 aka. Ninja Kids: Kiss of Death - it's so obscure that it and the director aren't even on IMDB - shame as it's wilfully wonderful trash.

Managed to do 13 and a bit films in 24 hours, so fingers crossed I can do the same today and tonight. :?

Good morning! Have the film characters started appearing in your front room yet?

Wow, you know it's obscure when the imdb doesn't even know about it!

I've just had a 'P' come from lovefilm, so I'll probably check that out later on . . .

heh, Q, the Winged Serpent, love it! There's a bit when they've just fended off the creature in the roof of the Chrysler, and Carradine breathes a sigh of relief and exclaims "big!" - always makes me chuckle :D You can tell everyone had a blast making that film . . .

There's some characters I'd happily see join me in the living room, but Bruce Willis as Bruno Radolini is not one them.

Yeh, it's bizarre that Ninja Kids: Kiss of Death isn't on IMDB. I can't even find alternative titles for it, and the director doesn't exist, yet another website shows he's directed about 20 films!

Q was fantastic, definitely one of the highlights so far.

Pretty nervous about tonight, we'll see I suppose.
