Anyone visited the 'London Film Museum' by the London Eye? Took my son (9) there for the Harry Potter exhibition which was a con. A cabinet of what I took to be props was actually replicas that were for sale in the shop so much of the exhibition turned out to be a glorified shop window. Other exhibits included a table to play HP top trumps, a PS3 with a HP game on it and a cabinet of lego models. Glad we didn't hang around for the guided tour which was given by some gum chewing student.

Rest of exhibits were OK but many seemed to be of the 'replica of the prop used in the film' variety. A room of Harry Hausen props was OK but many of them were not the real thing as they had deteriorated due to use of foam rubber. Best thing was an exhibition of armour all made by same guy for different films (Excalibur etc). So mixed feelings overall. Son got a green screened photo of him on a HP broom stick so he enjoyed it but was really freaked by the Queen Alien model!

Never been, although I came close for the Harryhausen exhibition last year, but the £15 entry put me right off.

I doubt I'll ever go now.

Did anyone visit MOMI when it was on the Southbank years ago? I remember enjoying that very much as a kid. Am I right in thinking it's in Bradford now?

I went to MOMI a few times back in the day. That was very good. Still got the program. And co-incidentally I went to the media museum in Bradford a few days before the London Film Museum and that was good. They have a section called TV heaven that has loads of old shows to choose from. Obviously a bit redundant now with dvds and reruns but many shows were not the sort of thing you get on dvds. Watched Juke Box Jury from 1979 more to look at the audience and see what they were like. 1970s was not a good decade for teeth.

The video game section was good. Got to play r-type and still got the magic touch although the controls on the upright cabinet were not appropriate.
